Your Producer's Guide to bucksoup
If you're reading this, you care—and we love that. We care too. bucksoup was made for you
Below is a collection of Pro Tips to help set you up for a fun, smooth, and successful bucksoup experience.
Let’s Go!
1) Messaging
Approach your messaging as if the consumer knows absolutely nothing about you or your product(s).
Express your brand with clarity, authenticity, and enthusiasm.
This applies to everything:
-
Shop images
-
Title Names
-
Promotional Media
-
Descriptions
-
Branding
When consumers fully understand your brand, they are more likely to purchase your Titles.
Pro Tip: Can a 5th grader understand what your Shop is about? The answer should be, YES!
2) Creating Your Shop
Your Shop is your Look, Voice, Vibe, and Brand.
Each of these elements combine to tell your story. And YOUR STORY is your super power.
Pro Tip: You can edit your Shop Description/Bio and images at anytime, so if it’s not perfect during setup, don’t sweat it, you can refine it later.
You do this thru Your Shop (navbar icon) - Edit Shop.
3) Shop Banner
The default banner works, but a custom banner elevates your Brand.
Recommended Banner size: 1200 × 180 px.
Pro Tip: Avoid placing important elements at the extreme edges—screen sizes vary, and content may get cropped. Browse Shops like Travel Bots for inspiration:
* Current Known Bug:
After uploading a new Banner Image, click Save Shop to see the change.
Preview does not currently display correctly—we’re fixing this soon.
4) Shop ID Image
This is your Brand’s visual anchor.
Recommended Shop Image size: 600 × 600 px (square).
Pro Tip: This will be the image that represents Your Shop under Browse Shops, so make it pop.
5) Titles (your products)
Titles are the tent poles that will drive our success! The Title name will serve as the headline.
Pro Tip: If you're concerned with SEO, consider descriptive names as Title names get indexed by Google and will help people find you.
6) Delivery File
This is the file your customer downloads after purchase.
-
Any format is acceptable
-
Any size is acceptable (as long as it uploads successfully)
You can only replace/update the Delivery File if the Title has not sold.
After a Title has sold, you must:
1 - Archive the original Title
2 - Create a new Title with the updated Delivery File
Pro Tip: Ask yourself, would I be satisfied with the content if I purchased this Title from another Producer? The answer should be, YES!
7) Category and Subcategory
Don't see a Category or Subcategory that fits your Title, shoot us an email (info@bucksoup.com) and we'll add it for you.
Pro Tip: Don't delay posting your Title, just choose from the available Cats and then make the change after we've created the new one(s). You can do that from the Edit Title page (top left).
8) Title Promotional Media
You can upload multiple promotional assets and reorder them via drag-and-drop. The image that is at the top (first) will become the primary image for your Title.
You can include:
-
Images
-
Audio samples
-
Video samples
Display Format: Square 1200 x 1200 px is optimal
File sizes:
-
MP3 / MP4: up to 10MB
-
JPG / PNG: up to 2MB
-
Video may be any aspect ratio but will display inside square framing
Pro Tip: We strongly suggest you watermark your images to prevent scraping. And when selling audio/video, include a preview. Customers rarely buy what they cannot see or hear. This does not have to include the entirety of the Title, but just a sample. If your promo media is audio, make it a video file with the still image.
9) Item Details
This is your pitch. Clarity is critical when describing your Title.
Consider including:
-
What the product is
-
Specs (size, length, quantity, format)
-
How it’s used
-
What makes it valuable
Pro Tip: A detailed description with specifics help close the sale.
10) Tagging
Our tagging system helps cross polinate Producers on the site. If multiple Producers use the same Tag, their titles will all appear on the Tag Results page. For example, look at the Dogs Tag Results Page.
Pro Tip: You can expand and edit your Item Details and Tags at any time thru the Edit Title freature. While descriptions should be detailed, tags should be general so that multiple Producers use the same tags. "Dogs" is a great tag, "Dog panting with tongue" is not.
11) Your Shop Tools
Under Your Shop (navbar icon), you’ll find tools to manage your business:
-
View/Edit Shop
-
Add New Title
-
Edit / Manage / Archive Titles
-
Sales & Stats
-
Pledgeables
-
Payouts & Settings
For Desktop: Once inside a section, navigation appears on the left for quick access.
For Mobile: Tap the Your Shop icon to see the dropdown and switch sections.
Pro Tip: Take a moment to familiarize yourself—these tools are essential.
12) NSFW Content Guidelines
bucksoup is not opposed to adult content, but we do maintain a PG-13 presentation standard on the front end.
We strongly encourage creativity:
-
Suggest rather than show
-
Blur, redact, imply, stylize
Think of it this way: We want you here just as much as we want a 10-year-old shopping for stickers to feel safe.
Pro Tip: Tagging Titles as NSFW is a good thing, but posting Titles with images that violate our TOS, will result in immediate suspension.
13) Promotion | Community Growth
bucksoup is a startup. Visibility is growing—and Producers like you are a huge part of that growth.
We ask that you please help us spread the word:
-
Share a link to one of your Titles, your Shop or someone else's. (Just copy and paste the URL)
-
Make a post
-
Tell your network
Pro Tip: When the community knows, our community grows—and success scales for everyone.
14) Getting Paid
Nothing makes us happier than paying our Producers!
Pro Tip: Make sure your Payout Options are current so you can get paid your Shop Balance on the first of every month. You can use PayPal or Zelle.
And that's it—for now.
We’re committed to making your experience positive and productive.
The platform will continue to evolve based on user feedback.
Questions, suggestions and ideas are always welcome.
Please reach out (info@bucksoup.com)—we’d love to hear from you.
